The Story of Chai Time

Chai Time was the second granola flavour that I created, and the inspiration came to me almost immediately.

My mom was actually the one who introduced me to chai tea - dragging me to another hole in the wall she had discovered on one of her walks. I remember that the shop wasn't really a cafe - it was like a mash-up of a vintage clothing store with clothes and trinkets from all around Asia. Somewhere between the saris, the Buddhas, the Moroccan rugs and the Thai coffee makers, was a little makeshift kitchenette with a couple of kettles gently resting on a table next to a burner. I didn't even see a sink or a fridge but I guess they were back there somewhere! Anyway, after sitting for a few moments, the ladies in the saris came back with big smiles to greet my mother and brought us a pot of the most delicious, milky, spicy tea. As usual, my mother was right on point! My complaining was quickly replaced by delight as the warming spices snaked their way throughout my body.

I tried to take that experience and translate it into the Chai Time line - whether you get the mouth tingles from the hit of chai spice in our granolas, or your nose perks up as the cinnamon, ginger and anise notes of the candle tickle your senses
